While there has been substantial research in a number of countries (e.g., Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Finland, Norway, Sweden, UK, Canada and the USA), comparatively little specific research on the positive and far-reaching effects of forest therapy as a Public health practice has been conducted in Australia.

Here, ANFTA has taken the initiative and to establish research links with renowned universities, faculties and institutes interested to collaborate. Likewise, ANFTA will engage actively in future research projects and collaborations. Further to this, ANFTA’s role is to disseminate Australian research findings among the wider Public as well as internationally. In this context, it is crucial for ANFTA to have experienced and well-published academics, researchers and practitioners as Founding Members and Associate Members as well as on ANFTA’s Advisory Board.
